Reflection About College Book
As a junior in high school, I believe it is very important to start planning on what your future could look like. Whether it is college or not, being able to have a plan and a vision is extremely relevant. For me personally, college has always been a plan for my future. Now that I'm getting closer to that time in my life I realized how imperative it was for me to start figuring out what I look for in a college, and I what I want to get out of college. Through the EDGE program in the beginning of my junior year, students started to take a deeper dive into college research. This opened up my eyes to all of the different aspects you have to consider when deciding where you want to apply. Through this mini college project, not only did I look at different colleges but I also started to prepare for the application process. I wrote my college essay and updated my portfolio and I created an admissions letter. From there, I created a college book with all of the different aspects to know about colleges that I was interested in, and I looked at careers for life after college. Along with all of that, I looked at financial aspects and scholarships. This project opened up my eyes to the world and life after high school and being able to reflect on this project as a whole and see how much work I did to discover colleges is truly amazing. I was glad that my mentors pushed me to look into this because it truly has started the process for me finding my dream school.
