Reflection About Growing Minds
The point of this project was to come together with a team to build and create something for someone else. In my case, I used creativity, collaboration, and communication with my two other group members to create an activity book to go along with a planter box for one of the SSN students at my high school. We started by designing as well as doing research about plants that would last in the Colorado weather. From there, we went into the creating and building phases for the different parts of this project. We used our technology skills to design our planter box and our creative skills to make a fun activity book. Then, I was able to put my skills to the test by helping my team build a physical planter box shown in the pictures above. We encountered some bumps in the road throughout this project where we had to be resilient and learn from mistakes. One being that some of the flowers we requested we were not able to get, so we had to adjust our plan a bit and do research on new plants and flowers that we could obtain for our planter box. Then, we struggled in finding the correct angles to cut our wood so that the box would be able to come together. Overall, I learned more of how to work with a team, and how to be creative in ways of overcoming challenges.
